I love your magnificent piece and well done for your first attempt at blackwork. I'm a little confused. You mentioned that the piece should be stitched on 14 vount aida but the pdf pattern calls for 25 count lugana. Could you please steer me the right way. Bless your heart. Such talent and I enjoyed your video immensely.

That works perfectly. I am just wondering if they can be printed on or do we just trace the pattern on the solvy paper

I think that is the most beautiful work of art I have ever seen! And I bet they are no longer available. I haven't cross-stitched a lot but I do quilt and my mother always stored our completed pieces inside old cotton pillowcases.

Gorgeous start on Lily of the Woods! I know what you mean about mottled fabric. I find that it has to be very muted or the stitching just gets lost in it in my mind.

Gorgeous stitching! Sparking Swan is stunning! Pictures just don't do Chatelaines justice, it is watching them grow that really shows off how beautiful and intricate they are. I really need to make a decision and pick my first one. There are just so many I can't make my mind up!

Try sliding them off hun rather than pulling them off. If you put a piece of fabric under the snaps, it will help them to slide off easily xx

If you want to learn how to do this ancient style of embroidery don't watch this video. The supposed tutorial comprises speeded up demonstrations of the stitches so you have no idea of how the stitches are formed. Very unhelpful.

DMC is fine. I have made many things and washed them with Soak wash.
